A Homeowner's Guide to Milgard Wood Windows

Last updated 4 years ago

If you’re looking for windows that add timeless beauty to your home, consider Milgard wood windows. These windows combine curb appeal with enough toughness to stand up to the elements. At California Glass & Window, we recommend Milgard windows to many of our customers who want beauty and durability. Here is what you need to know about Milgard wood windows:

Interior Windows
Part of the appeal of Milgard wood windows is that they are different on the inside and outside. The interior side of the window comes in pine wood standard, but you can opt for primed wood or Douglas fir. Because of a unique internal connecting system, there are no visible staples or nail holes. The result is a completely smooth finish that can be painted or stained to the color of your choice.

Exterior Windows
The exterior side of a Milgard wood window is made from fiberglass, an alternative to a traditional wood window, which is wood on both sides. The fiberglass makes the window better able to stand up to the elements. Milgard uses a powder-coat painting process for sag-free paint that lasts for years and is resistant to scratching. Milgard offers 15 different exterior colors, so you’re sure to find one that complements your home. Their exterior windows also come complete with a water management system that protects the sash and keeps water from entering the interior. Should water enter the sash for any reason, the window is set up to drain water away before it causes damage.

Milgard windows are built to last, but should you have any trouble, you can rely on their full lifetime warranty. We believe in Milgard windows at California Glass & Window. We’re committed to making sure all of our customers get the right windows for their needs.
